Jack Cummings addresses the company's "Green Initiative".
Here, he shares his thoughts on being asked to speak at a local Chamber of Commerce about the recycling program at Cummings Printing.
As I prepared for the speech I realized two things. First, Cummings Printing was doing quite a lot to help the environment and secondly there was no written statement articulating our green initiative.
The following is a brief summary of the "Cummings Printing Green Initiiative"
Last year, Cummings Printing recycled over 5.13 million pounds of paper, 62,000lbs of aluminum (printing plates) and every ounce of waste ink. Through an in house distillation process we recycle cleaning solvents produced during press wash ups while printing completely alcohol free. Clients can be comfortable knowing that their jobs are printed using aqueous coatings and soy-based inks and thats over 30% of the papers that Cummings inventories are made with recycled fibers. |
