Dear Prospective Customer,

When constructing this web page, I was asked to write a message stating why
a publisher should print with Cummings Printing versus a competitor. I would
begin by acknowledging that most printing companies at this level have
pretty much the same machinery, and if a job comes in requiring capabilities not in house, we all use viable outside vendors.

There are two main areas where I believe Cummings does rise above our
competition:

The first being our ability to consistently print a quality product in a timely manner at a fair price. Our strict adherence to ISO 9000 methodologies (the internationally recognized quality system) with regard to the operation of our plant gives Cummings Printing this edge.

The second is our response to problems. There are very few projects that go off without a hitch, no matter which printer you use. The difference is the way they respond to and solve those challenges. A client can call their CSR
(Customer Service Representative) or anyone including the president anytime
to get an answer to whatever question they may have. This is not lipservice... this is the truth, as any current customer of Cummings Printing can attest.

I am the youngest of 5 brothers and I knew from the beginning that printing would be my vocation, while sports has always been my passion.

I started my career at Cummings Printing by working after school and summers, backing through the production process. I drove the truck, worked in the mailing department, bindery and the pressroom. After graduating from college, I took a job in the typesetting department, and from there, worked my way to sales. It was in sales that I saw the potential for Cummings Printing to become more than just a local sheet-fed printer.

Today, I am the president of a company that competes on a national level in the production of magazines and catalogs. I am also the father of two young sons, who keep me busy especially with coaching all their sports teams.

My expertise includes over 25 years in the printing industry as an Accounting Manager. I have been involved with all accounting, finance and human resource functions and take pride in the professionalism of our accounting staff. I am a native of the New England area and together with my husband have five grown children and three grandchildren. I am an avid golfer and enjoy spending time at the coast for relaxation.

I've been with Cummings Printing since 1990. Prior to that I worked for a company who sold services to Cummings and I was impressed by the way Cummings did business so I interviewed as a sales person. I'm proud to be the Sales Manager at Cummings Printing. During my time here the printing industry has changed dramatically. One of the most impressive aspects of our company is our commitment and ability to adapt and thrive in this quickly changing environment.

On a personal level, I graduated from University of New Hampshire in 1987 where I met my wife Elizabeth. We live in nearby Manchester NH with our three children. Most of our time is spent with their various activities including athletics, orchestra and loud guitar playing. In my spare time I enjoy music and attempting to stay young by taking part in various sports.

I was born in Limerick, Ireland in November 1975. I attended Crescent
College Comprehensive for high school and I gained an Associates in Business and Computers from Limerick Institute of Technology. I gained my degree in English Writing and Publishing from Notre Dame College in Manchester, New Hampshire.

While in college both in Ireland and the US I played soccer, captaining both teams for at least one year.

In my free time I coach soccer
to kids in the Manchester area.

In my free time, when not chasing my children in the back yard during a game of freeze tag, I can be found playing basketball, running, skiing and playing tennis. My family is very important to me and I treasure our time together.

I have been employed at Cummings Printing since 1984, but have been around the company since I was a boy. My father was the foreman of the old Typesetting Dept. and worked at Cummings for nearly 40 years. I would often accompany my father when he would come to "The Shop". I have seen a great number of changes; lead type, paper tape, VIP's, electronic prepress, and finally, CTP. Through it all, one thing has remained the same, Cummings' commitment to stay on the cutting edge of technology.

Personally, my wife (Pam) and I have been married for 13 years and have a beautiful 3 year old daughter (Mackenzie) along with 3 dogs, 1 cat, and 2 horses. I am a NH native, the father of two boys. I obtained an Associates degree from NH Vocational Technical College in 1985 and then worked in the commercial print market for 15 years. In the fall of 1998 I joined the Cummings Printing team as a prepress manager. Over the past 7 years we have invested a great deal of time and money to making our prepress department the state of the art operations it has become.

I am proud of how far we have come and where we are going here at Cummings Printing.

In 1986 I began my career at Cummings Printing Company in the proofreading department. My previous employer was a small graphic design firm, and it was almost unbelievable to me that the employees had been here for so long, decades in fact. The staff is loyal and once hired, usually stay with the company until retirement!!

Now, in my 22nd year at Cummings, I realize why. Cummings is a family run business that treats their employees and their clients …like part of the family!

We're a close-knit bunch, and I'm extremely proud of the great staff of representatives in our Customer Service department! I believe that customer service, good customer service, is one of the most important aspects of a successful business.

On a personal note, I have been married for 21 years, we have two boys, and in my free time when not being a "soccer Mom", I enjoy pilates, music (I'm trying to teach myself to play the acoustic guitar), painting, and the outdoors.
